For most of my life I’ve had to deal with a negative/positive attitude war. Attitudes have power over our lives. A good attitude will lead to a blessed life full of peace and confidence while a bad attitude will prevent us from enjoying the life Christ died to give us (John 10:10). Our attitude will draw others to us or repel them. We need a daily attitude adjustment before our lives run amuck.

What is an attitude?
An attitude is an established way of thinking which is revealed through a person’s behavior. It is habitual way of thinking and like all habits they can be changed with the help of God. Joyce Meyer describes an attitude as “your thought life turned inside out”, therefore, “A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.” ( Luke 6:45 (NLT)
We’ll begin this Bible study series with a positive attitude. All things are possible with a positive attitude and it will be difficult to change any of the others if we are full of negative thinking. There are three types of attitudes: attitude of the mind, attitude of the heart and attitude of the spirit, and each attitude has it’s negative counterpart.
Attitudes of the Mind
A Positive Attitude (negativity)
A Confident Attitude (insecurity)
A Content Attitude (anxious)
A Patient Attitude (impatient)
Attitudes of the Heart
A Joyful Attitude (discouraged)
A Kind and Caring Attitude (unforgiving, self-centered)
A Courageous Attitude (fearful)
A Determined Attitude (quitting, distracted)
Attitudes of the Spirit
A Hopeful Attitude (hopelessness)
A Humble Attitude (proud)
A Trusting Attitude (doubt, double minded)
A Peaceful Attitude (frustrated, anxious)
