Each Monday Cee Neuner of Cee’s Photography asks four questions as a way for us to get to know each other. I hope you enjoy sharing my world.
What is your favorite month of the year?
October, back in the pre-Florida days fall weather was cool, there were fun activities associated with fall like harvestfest, apple festivals, Octoberfest and my favorite, Halloween and then there’s the fall foliage which can be spectacular. So why do I continue to favor this month? It’s my birthday 🙂 As a kid I thought is was special because it was my birthday, mainly because the county fair came that week every year. And I still love Halloween.
Someday I’ll take Kai north in October so he can experience the chill, the foliage and the fun festivals.
Do you drink coffee at all?
Ah, hook me up to an IV, get me one of they hat cup holders. Coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, java, cappuccino (quote from Dante’s Peak) I like it hot, cold, iced, frozen, as ice cream, candy, pudding, cake, muffins, etc…
What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?
I got my first job at the ripe old age of 12. My dad was a real estate agent and his company managed a small hotel. I worked as a chambermaid which is a hotel maid for those of you not from New England. I was paid 2.00/hr under the table (I wasn’t legal working age). When I finally got a real/legal chambermaid job I only received minimum wage…1.65/hr.
List: If you play video/computer games list 5 games you like?
Don’t really have time for such pleasures but when I did I liked puzzle games and card games.
- puzzle inlay
- ocean’s express
- pinochle
- euchre
- hearts/spades
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m thankful I’m still feeling well. Six weeks ago I felt so poorly I didn’t think I’d be able to travel. So that leads me to looking forward to “vacation” in Indiana.
Ok I love the fall in northern Michigan because of all the color, and of course coffee rules by you like Euchre also?
only euchre I get now is online, still looking for a fourth. Northern MI, where? I absolutely love the UP.
My son lives in Marquette but anything north of West Branch or Cadillac is great. Petoskey, Traverse City, etc. We will be in Marquette end of September!
I’m actually familiar with all those places. I stayed at the West Branch RV Park a few days, I have friends in Cadillac, I stayed in Bellaire for a week, didn’t make it to Traverse City, the national cherry festival was going on. I don’t do crowds and a million people scared me off. I collected Petoskey stones near Petoskey. And then there’s Marquette. Stayed there two summers. I love the UP in the summer but I would never live there. I won’t go where snow is measured in feet.
Enjoy your trip, but of course you will
Forgot to mention that the main picture on my blog is a small lake about 5 miles outside of Marquette. I agree on the snow. We live in Northern Colorado on the east side of the Rockies and not in the mountains for the same reason. Inches not feet! Did you ever visit the tip of the Kewaunaw Peninsula in the fall? It has to be the best. Not bad in the summer either.
Nice pic, and no I’ve not been in MI in the fall but I bet it’s beautiful. I’ve only been to the UP in Aug/Sept & July/Aug. Here’s a post with pics of UP & Keweenaw
